delightful composition. the nearly-centered empty sign sign frame serves an an anti-title: "here is a whole of nothing." the electric lines seem to be slicing down into the picture, about to crush the empty shell of a building. The arrows painted on the sidewalk tell a story of their own, like an equation waiting to be solved.

The lovely ivory, morocco, and grays of the color scheme give this a warmth and beauty quite poetically in contrast to its sad subject matter.
