hi and thanks for comment...wasn't sure if you thought this was a real holga shot or not? It was a focused, ordinary Summer shot to me until i used PSP8 to give it that dreamy look to go with the about..yeah,the style is not to everyone's taste...Shot with my Nikon N60 35mm film camera;>

(thanks for comments on tank and flag shots,too,Paul.....it is sad how so many took the "potion" and the blind follow the blind)

Honestly?
I do not see the attraction with cameras that make passibly visible imagery. I am deeply, deeply in love with my 20D and if I want a retro look, I'll happily do that in photoshop, but I'd rather start with the sharpest image possible.

Very unusual photo, but nice. Very sixtyish, with a dream like feel to it, as if we're looking into someones memory. I like it. Cheers, Ann.

Pukka is an English word, can you believe that? It means: real, genuine, authentic.

You have me intrigued and "pukka" means?
The guy is sitting on a homemade log raft ala Tom Sawyer style Summer fun in the river! Thanks for feedback...

He looks like he's covered in mud! Yeah that'll make him real pretty for a female bigfoot. And what's that he's sitting on? It's funny to me, and enigmatic. The word for today is pukka.

For some reason the word 'purity' comes to mind when I look at this photo, Gayle. There is a sheer translucent quality to the water and foliage while the man and his thoughts are partially hidden in shadow. The brightness of the sun and soft aqua shade of the water bring a soft warmth to the scene. The slight vignetting, I assume that is the 'holgaroid' look (I am not familiar with the Holga) heightens the sense of aloneness. Beautiful work, girl!!

Little danger of anyone changing the channel with work like this. It's endlessly fascinating. I hope your real life Polaroid/Holga will give you results as good results as this.

Hi Gayle, I really like the treatment to this photo. There's an atmosphere of softness and gives the photo a dream-like state. Well done!

Good job with the simulation, Gayle. I have a Holgaroid myself, but find that it gets little use. The film is hard to come by, and at a dollar a shot, is too expensive for me to shoot. But I really like what I get from it, and my non-photog friends always marvel at the shots. Invariably, "It's like something from the Sixties!" Never fails...
