About
This tree has been photographed to death (not literally, of course). It is found on the moor near Glencoe in the Highlands of Scotland.
I have chosen this angle to focus more on the beauty of the decaying tree and the natural rust on the moor instead of the usual shot that features Beauchaille Etive Mor in the background. I have also tried to use the small burn to the left of the tree to lead the eye into and through the shot.
Hi Thomas, very powerful shot, and an excellent composition. I like the feel of the barren Scottish highlands, embodied by the dead tree, a perfect metaphore. The image seems a bit oversharpened, looking at the halo around the branch on the left, but compared to the impact of this shot, that's only a very minor thing. Very good photo.
