Magnificent photo, love the three contrasts in the landscape and how the light highlights the horse, an i do prefer your original rather than Carols example of how it could look- because the second pic is too dark which seems to lose the horses body. great capture, beautiful scene,

Carol thank or your interest,
You're right it is difficult to imagine the way a photographer sees a picture and what mood want to associate.
Dont's worrie your monitor should be OK, background is a bit washed, I've tried different pictures more conrasted before this one, and also different crops, but finally I choose this one.

I attach the original shot so you'll understand better the picture. As i told you the feeling was "Surprise".
Thank you for your precious tip.

Fabio this is wonderful work, I love the way you toned this and the way this beautiful horse stands out in the vast space, the tones work well on him, and there is a kind of majesty to his movement and placement within the frame...I really love the feeling of this one...kind of sad and wonderful at the same time....very nice and very well done...:):)linda

Thank you carol for your appreciation.
Good hint the layer in LAB: I've to try for my next pictures for wich the High contrast is right for the feeling I would get.
In this case I need to keep the soft tone of that day and the surprise feel, no drama to add.

Thank you again for your tip! Fabio

Imageopolis Featured Photo Critique Fabio,
I love this!
May I make a suggestion?
First, create a second copy layer and convert that copy layer to "lab colors" while keeping it in bw. In PS..IN your layers palate.. convert that top layer to "multiply" you'll be amazed at how that pulls the tones up.. and makes it MUCH richer. Then adjust your curves and contrast and brightness after..Flatten as jpeg. I have included a quick sample with masking effects..
I hope this helps..You have A huge AMOUNT of great photos to work with and I look forward to seeing more from you in the future!

Alex

Nice. The level horizon of the foreground meadow is perfect, the way extraneous deatil is removed so we're really focused on the depth of the landscape really works for this. I also like how the tones on the horse are richer than the rest of the photo - makes it stand off and draws your eye to it.
