About Once a fishing village for the shrimp in San Francisco Bay, China Camp exists today as a California State Park. Intolerance for the Chinese brought an end to fishing for shrimp and today there is little left of either village or shrimp fishery but a memory, a few buildings, and a small museum with the scene you see here. - Mister Ken

Tim - Yes, I PSd the window, but not the frame or light shining thru. There is a solarized layer backed off to about 20% to provide the black window and a sense of age that I did not find in the colored version. The irony of this shot is that there were five other photographers there all with far more expensive equipment crowded into the window side of the exhibit. Lacking tripod, I found a desk to the left of the exhibit and no one else seemed to be interested in shooting from that perspective. I admire the work of the other photographers and still have much to learn from them, but this version went on to receive an award.

Well taken, Ken. Museum lighting can be hard to work with. Is there some ps texture work here? The smooth window frame and adjacent wall boards suggest blur. I like the tone and the texture effect as an accent, though I expect the historic scene would have been much more rough. I'm not a big fan of these shots in general, as the composition always seems to me dominated by the intent/conception of the person setting up the display rather than the photographer. Still, you've done it very well. Regards.
Tim

Thank you for your kind comment on my "Rachel's box."

You did good. I love the dark tones with the textures and pale greys of the "stuff." Excellent composition as well. This is very artfully rendered. Antonia
