I looked at your portfolio before but I must have missed this one. I love it. The light, the different moving bodies... good shot!

thk you nicole for your detailed critique.both girls are well known to me but to tell you the truth i don't analyse my work so much,i feel that takes put some of the charm of the art.we are all a product of our influences as is our art and to over analyse it is to take out the spontanaeity from one's work

I really enjoy this picture. I like all of its movement and the purple and red tones [hues]. I was schooled in the "principles of art" but sometimes identifying those parts ruins the picture. But I can't help but to say I admire your use of distance. The beachfront buildings are a comfort to me as I grew up in Hawai'i [O'ahu]. (I know reside in San Antonio, TX- big culture shock) There was a similiar strip in Honolulu bordering Waikiki Beach. It ran a few miles until it ended at the Diamond Head Crater. Both are very beautiful. I love when a piece of art can stir up memories, just like good food that reminds you of home. I'm sorry if I have talked too much. I tend to do that. I'll make this last part brief- as far as I could tell you use two women for as your models. Do you know them very well? And if yes do you believe it possible for a picture to come out differently when a photographer is working with something/someone he/she is familiar with? Do you as a photographer find excellent pictures because you have an open mind & heart, an intelligence for these things, or are they mostly familiar settings that you can show the most intimate details of to your audience? If you get a chance I would love to hear a response. Otherwise I can assure I don't usually type this much. I hope you have a good day. Your words on humility strike me as unusual because not too many people see things as clearly as you seem to. Alright well have a good one.

Sincerely,
Nicole [the Newbie]
