Jason, wonderful, but why is the bride kissing one of the groomsmen??? ;-)

Really, the first thing I thought, even before reading your note, was how great it is despite (or maybe in spite?) of the fact that it's technically poor for what people have learned to expect in their perfect digital worlds (Oh, I *ONLY* shoot digital). But if you think about it, looking at them live at night on the street with only street lights... how sharp or "properly exposed" would it have been? It's about how people want to remember their moments, not how the moment actually occured. I mean, as far as we know they've had way too much to drink during the reception, and this is a break between stumbles. Now, I know that's not true, but it's just an example of how reflecting moments exactly how they were or putting the emphasis on photographic qualities can ruin an image.

Nicely done! Jim

Yes, great photojournalistic wedding work! Great mood, lovely tones. Grain works too.

Beautiful photograph, it has the feel of a Robert Doisneau image. Even though the background might be considered busy, the street scene adds some energy and excitement to this romantic moment.

awesome shot Jason...the background is well out of focus so not to take away from the bride and groom...the sepia tone is an excellent touch...

Anything that detracts from your main subject is bad. That's why busy backgrounds don't usually work. This shot is fine IMO because Jason has thrown the background well out of focus. Doing so has eliminated any detail that might draw your eye. What is left is an image full of atmosphere and depth. Nice shot.

I aways wonder why a busy backround is bad (Im new). But to me it seems that it gives life to a picture.

Impressive moment... good catch

about the background... it's a little bit "busy", isn't it?

Nice shot that grows on you. It is subtile and that is fine with such a powerful image and subject.

Atmospheric.. it looks like Phillip Marlowe being married. I like it.

Dark and grainy works for me Jason. Sepia added that nice final touch.
