Thanks Len,
You saw the point of this photo The light was harsh that day and I grabbed the moment....the mom cried when I handed her the photo....and that was the point.

I take the points made some of the other comments but the main focus for me is the warmth and affection of the girl for the horse. Nice shot.

Adriane have you worked out duotones yet? There's a little duotones option at image-mode-duotone. Jpegs you may be looking at are rgb colour. I haven't found a way to go straight from that to duotone so convert the image to greyscale first. So at the moment I'm going image-mode greyscale, then image-mode-duotone. to float the resulting image on the net you need to convert back to rgb colour. There are lots of duotone images if you see a "load" option somewhere but the default is the nice and preferred by most black and yellow tone option I think. Hope that helps.

thanks Bill,
being new to digital and photoshop how would I do duotone? Am trying to learn. The lighting was very harsh as the natural light was not at a good time of day and again not sure what to do.
Any pointers would be appreciated

A nice moment captured...the lighting is a bit harsh and I think the composition would have been better if it included the horses nose/mouth. How about a conversion to duotone?
