Hi Jon,
Judging from this portrait, I would say the classes are paying off!

Hi Jon. The B&W print looks dramatic and as you say "arty" though the crop is a bit close for my taste.

My mod involved using "skew" on the right 40% bringing the top right corner down on a duplicated layer, then the filter > distort > pinch on the upper 60% of this area until it looked about right. Then I shaded it progressively using a very feathered selection (I could have used a gradient mask but it takes longer to set up). Sounds quite complicated but it only took about 3 minutes (including a bit of fiddling with curves to lift the shadows).

Best wishes, Jonathan

PS please let me know if you prefer I do not tinker with your photos.

I quite like what you've done, and I have to admit I can't figure how you did it vis a vis the perspective. The back bothered me as it looks almost like she's got a bit of a hump. I had tried cropping it but lost to much head. After seeing your work I tried playing with the perspective controls in PSP and the results were, well.. interesting, let's just say. I did have some success with the clone brush but I ton't think that's what you did.

I did try this as a more "arty" black and white, with the below results.

Cheers, and thanks for your time and effort.

Dramatic shot and good use of limited DoF. Great model.

If I were printing it I would make some minor mods, especially bringing out the shadow detail in her hair, warming the skin tones and de-emphasising her back by shading and altering the perspective - I hope you don't mind if I show you what I mean...

Best wishes, Jonathan
