Hi John:
Thanks for your kind comments...it's appreciated. The shot of Cook Strait was very deliberate, in the sense that I knew of the location and made the schlep there at around the right time, ( 4days of bad weather and the flu from hell). I lived not far from the location and as the weather started to break, I grabbed the Robitusin & J. Daniels, headed out and waited...of course didn't know the sky would be so spectacular.
I had a look at your portfolio and there are some cool shots there, (#23, #7, Eagle, and red wagon...and the little girl.
My wee suggestion..try a slower speed b&w film for daylight conditions, 100 asa, or maybe try some infra red for fun (appx. 25 asa or the high speed type). also.. consider some different lense options that may offer a crisper result. The glass is important!
That's my offering...your work is good..keep it up!

Talk about being in the right place at the right time. If a hundred photographers managed to find Cook Strait at this precise time, I doubt any could even come close to accomplishing what you have here. Your skill and artistic eye are amazing. The colors here are rich and the reflection gives just enough light to the rocks below. Congratulations. I look forward to seeing more of your work. If you get a chance I would be honored if you could take a quick look at some of my images. I am new to photography and would love someone of your talent to give me some critique.
