These clouds are great. I really didn't understand how photgenic they are untill I devolped this film. This one was on the back side of a of a storm front. I'm no expert on weather but I think this was a small one. It would be fun to do a project on them. It helps to live in place where there is alot of sky.

Hi Pat, "CB" refers to the type of cloud that forms the anvil head, the Cumulo Nimbus, a universal abbreviation among pilots and others concerned with thunderstorms.

I came to South Dakota several years ago and also at least once a year since to enjoy your state and hopefully photograph clouds such as these, but no luck ! This however shows me that it happens, just not when I am there ;-)
Great shot, and I agree about what South Dakota has to offer, especially the great people.
