Yes Lucy - i think it might be a little too close. Especially because there is so much in the picture. With maybe just one gash it could work this close, but this is a huge wound. Sometimes less is more if you know what i mean. Cheers neil
thanks for your comment neil. when you say 'room to breathe', how do you mean? on one hand, i wanted to capture the bark/flesh up close, but on the other hand, i thought it might be too close. is this what you're after? :)
Hi Lucy, i can see what you tired to portray here. Sometimes the wounds on trees or broken trees can be horrible. It reminds me of a Roald Dahl story where the plants can hear and they scream out when you hurt them! I think to do this type of photo justice though it needs a little more room to breath somewhere. There is so much in the frame that it's hard to concentrate. The lighting is also a little flat, but you couldn't do much about that :) Anyway all this is just my opinion so don't worry. keep em coming and have fun! best wishes and thanks for your comments, neil
