i tend to disagree with sunset man. no matter how "indisciplinate" I might sound, I am not a big fan of rules - be it symmetry or thirds or whatever. say they are good guidelines, inspiring but not binding.

i do like the slight asymmetry here - and like the man standing at the vanishing point.

This is a beautiful image. The bold contrast is very pleasing to the eyes. The shadows of the trees adds some interesting texture to the path.

I agree wit Sunset Man's crop too.
Also, I think that the background with that building is a bit too clear and pronounced, it closes the image too directly. Maybe a slight cloud woluld make the scene more open...

I have to agree with the sunset man here. I like his crop better. The DOF is very deep and sound!

I love this type of image and have quite a bit of respect for it because it's destiny was B&W and additionally because of the Rollei used, but ... why is this piece of work screaming straight up vertical to me or am I just too darn symetrical for my own good?

I can see your 'almost rule of thirds' here to the left, but does it really apply?

Anyway ... I am indeed more than glad that you have shared this image with us and per your own honest comment I offer the attached but just wondered why you didn't go vertical from the beginning instead of horizontal. It still gets very high marks from me though!

Best of Regards!

P.S. Love the title too ... !
