hahaha, and I was just going to ask you how you managed to get such a great shot of this butterfly!!
I tried all last summer to get some shots of butterflies, but I think they have a 6th sense to know when I'm coming and they take off. Again, nice choice with DOF as the B&W could have become a visual nightmare with the background. It's been handled very well!

Fantastica foto!!!
Strana la scelta del B&W per una farfalla, ma
molto bella e dettagliata!
Complimenti.
Ciao e grazie per il tuo commento.

Aah... hehe... here is the butterfly you talked about! I probably missed it because it's a bit "busy" and b&w... no big face that grabs attention etc. BUT now I'm here, and it's a really good photo! Don't know why you chose to have a butterfly with wonderful colours in b&w, but why not.

I like it, and can't see anything that could be done better. About capturing them... I read in a book (don't know if it's true, but worth a try) that if you take photos of butterflies and you scare one away from a flower, just stay still and wait, because it will come back in short while to same flower.

I thought auto-focus cameras took care of all that for you, Roger. Some problem, is there? (heh, heh. Hehhh!) It's much simpler with RFs. We just set up a focus zone and hope the butterly obliges by flying into it. Much less stressful. Anyway, however this one was focused it seems to have come out alright. You caught him in a tight banking turn. Well done!

Well I don't think you can complain about the focus on this beautiful butterfly
You've done just a great job. Love the DOF
My 300D id great but I am still struggling and quite undiceded about the lenses I want to buy. I love macro work, you know and the 18-55mm that I have isn't good for it. However, I'm still experimenting a lot with it. How do you like your 70-200?
I have a half mind of getting myself a 50 mm macro and a 28-135 mm IS
I wonder how about the size of this butterfly in real life
