Hi Glenn, i've just enjoyed browsing through your portfolio. This is the kind of photo i like to try, unfortunately usefilm can't do it justice at the moment (but they are working on it) with the format, so i haven't posted any of my panoramas. Ive seen lot's of great picture of these mountains but never seen them in reality :-( One day. Thanks for letting me share with you, and thanks for your comment on "Memories of Adobe", i enjoyed playing with that one in PS! Cheers from Switzerland, Neil

Absoultely amazing shot and stitch. The clarity or the reflections is brilliant. I would love to see this in more resolution.
By the way, I was surprised to see comments on my portfolio from another McGloughlin. It is very rare to find someone with the same spelling. Here in Cork, Ireland, we are the only ones in the phone book!

Great panoramic. I too was there in 2002. What time of year was this taken? I happened to be there in late June.
It is a shame that this is limited to 640 pixel width. Beautiful reflection. The tetons always seem so much more impressive with snow on them.

Very impressive. What a pity we are limited to 640 pixels in width; not nearly enough to savour the beauties of this amazing panorama. I've put up quite a few panoramas here, usually taken with panorama-format cameras. I don't feel inclined to put stitched ones up because of the inability to display them to advantage. Was the stitching process fairly painless? I use a commercial program (fast and easy to use but hard to tweak if anything goes wrong) and a shareware program that is fiddly and time-consuming to use but gives really excellent results. I've written an article for Usefilm on panoramas that should be up before too long...

Hi all,
Glenn, lovely shot.
For those commenting about the difficulty of stitching images together, (Glenn may have already done this), I was shown a technique at a camera club lecture for this. Of course you need to have taken your originals carefully (using a tripod pan (check spirit levels) and ensure a reasonable overlap). Once you have decent originals you can use a clever trick in photoshop to stitch them. I can't remember the exact buttons to press, but it involves starting with either leftmost or rightmost image, taking your second image and temporarily turning it into a transparent negative. Move the second over the first and when the overlap between the two goes absolutely black, you have a perfect match, so drop image 2 there, then turn it back to positive etc. Repeat for as many images as you want.
I've never actually tried this myself, - the guy in the lecture made it look way easier than I'm sure it is in reality. I just thought the info might be handy.

good job keeping it all lined up. quite a task when you're taking that many shots. love the reflection in the water and how the clouds are sitting just above the mtn range. could be nice with some sunset or sunrise color depending on which way you're facing. 8)
