i like the framing on the second one with empty space around him... and agree with others that the red is too saturated almost to the point of artifacting....though it may be that it is just the scan and not so on the film...

the image has a soft effect which I think works, based on the fact that he is about to cry...excellent capture of the expression...the only thing that is a bit distracting is the bright red t-shirt...if it were slightly desaturated the viewers attention would be held on his face...

Very good shot. A boy's expression is very good.you caught very good moment....Especially, a boy's pupil (wrapped in a soft light) is very impressive.

Very cute little boy and good capture of cute expression! Seems a little bit soft, (especially if the eyes are not sharp) and I would prefer a more natural light. The shadows are a little bit strange, if you look under his ears it's like big balls that looks like hair. Like Princess Leah in Star Wars! ;-) I prefer your second one by the way! Because it's a more interesting composition, and on the first one the frame cuts off a part of his ear and head, also the frame is taking quite a lot attention. Some free space is always good to have, which you have in your second one!
