Thank you all for commenting on this picture. I was happy surprised it was POTD yesterday.
To Bob: I will add a picture of the whole plant here. It is blooming right now with yellow/green little flowers. The leaves of this plant are very soft hairy. Maybe that is why they keep the drops to them, even if it hasn't rain. Every morning there are drops on the leaves when the sun is just coming up. Just a beautiful view! Too pitty, I don't know the english word for it.

Congratulations, Diana on Photo of the Day. Since I have a Sony 717, I was interested to see the max macro performance. Most plant leaves express excess water through the hydeothodes located where the droplets are. This happens when evapotranspiration is low. What was the plant? Do you have a picture of the whole plant?

Hi Diana, well after looking through your portfolio, I am very impressed...your title here is quite appropriate and your dof superb, I wonder if this is an image you have turned into a painting yet...IMO this would be a wonderful subject...you have some nice diagonal lines and great clarity in the drops...actually I notice two diagonals, on is left to right created by the drops and the other is right to left created by the leaf...excellent work, look forward to more

The sheer number of dew drops on this one leaf (group of leaves?) sets this one apart. A whole congregation of them, clustered at all sorts of strange angles. The composition and clarity are great, and I really like the choice of a rather shallow DOF.
BTW thanks for your comment on the man feeding a pigeon shot. The composition wasn't a matter of cropping, it was just difficult - including his other hand would force me to move him further towards centre of frame. But I couldn't have him on the right hand side as the pigeon would be lost in the corner. Im not 100% happy with the result, but as you said its the emotion that is important there, and the composition is a happy enough medium.

Hi Dee, yes you are right! These leaves have drops on them most of the time. Especially in the morning you can see the contoures of the leaves from a distance, because of the drops.
