It is already a long time ago that Latin was frequently spoken on the banks of the Seine river :-), so I found your title as "l“Art pour l“art" somewhat more familiar to me.
If art is like a spiritual direction in life, some even make a living out of it, others consume it on top of their basic needs, still two billion or more people that can perfectly live without art, but not without food and health care.
So it does not surprise me that this pedestrian, if returning from shopping or going to work does not notice any offered art exposure, instead of anything else more basic needs you find more frequently offered in street shops.
