Superb image, Brigitte. I guess the vertical shot is much better. It gave emphasis to the tall trees.
Like you, I try my very best to put some description of a photo I upload; especially if it is something very local. I try not to keep people guessing about my shots. If you know Alison, she's one lady who really makes full use of the 'about' facility. Poems, song lyrics, she fills the 'about' space!!
And thanks for dropping by, Brigitte; I love sharing whatever I do with you nice people in UF!

Nice green tones reflecting on the water. I'd rather this version. Best regards, Judson.

I am with you all the way in this Brigitte. I was slightly poking fun at the idea of "abstracts". Personally, I love "pop" and stuff like that. That's just me.
I shall continue to do so. And never forget that YOU saw the image, opened your shutter :)
Best regards,
Anthony

Thank you so much for your well thought out comments, which I was looking for. I considered all you have described also, but ended up with what I uploaded because it appealed best to me. I really appreciate and want to know other's opinions as well. I do like your crop very much. Thanks so much again for your help and lovely examples, Anthony. Really appreciate it! :-) -Brigitte

I like this too, Anthony... I actually cropped like you did to see how it would look. I'm just not a super-big fan of abstracts but I do love the rich color and oil-paintedly look of the reflections on the water. Thanks for experiementing and sharing. :-)

Actually, on reflection (LOL) I want to see a lot more of that water - the eye hungers for it!

Brigitte, I like both, a lot - but I prefer this one because of the verticals. What floats my boat about your picture is the reflections, the greens, in this shimmering, pristine water. I'd like it more if you lost that rocky bit at upper right, and confined the frame to that part which appeals most. And for me, it's the water. We do not lose the pines because they are in the water.
I love places like this which are hard to spoil because of their inaccessibility.
I'm going to regret this, but here's my alternate take:
Many will disagree, but it's all part of the fun and privilege of being among the UF community.
Warmest regards Brigitte, Ant
