I should add that he has just come up from a bowl on to the level platform around it, and is essentially stopped. So the fact that there doesn't appear to be much movement is because there wasn't much movement :-]
I don't know anything about skateboarding, unfortunately, so I cannot say. I was at the local skatepark and asked some guy if I could shoot him while he was riding. Pretty tough to get good shots. I was trying to pre-focus where I guessed he'd come around - this was one of them. My camera doesn't do the manual focus thing very well, so it was a bit of work to get it right. This is a pretty tight crop, too.
I find this image instantly appealing Jon. The de-focussed background, the detail on the sneaker, the sense of dynamism in your framing, and your choice of B&W. Is this what is known as a classic "A" frame, or somesuch?
