Hi
I have just been looking through your portfolio & you have some wonderful shots. Congrats. I saw this & thought it could use a bit more punch. Kostas comments are about spot on but you can save it with a bit of photoshop work. playing with levels, saturation, & even some layers to darken parts of the image can help to even out the exposure & it is sometimes amazing what comes out of an image even just toying with the levels. Anyway I just thought Id pop this in for your. I'm of to bed - sweet dreams.

Thank you for your comments. I think you're right about the lack of sharpness. Your photos, both from Poland, where my late father was born & from Rome, are beautiful. So what shall I send you? I liked Polish films very much, especially the ones that deal with music. So here is a man playing near the garden of Monet, near Paris.

Thank you for all the constructive and nice remarks... I know the building is too dark, probablu I should have snapped more of the sky and less of the building... But I always want to eat the cake and have it... ;-)

hello Irenka :-) your third submission is weaker than the previous two,I'm afraid, and I'll give my reasons: a) given the high contrast between the building and sky, it was impossible to have both of them correctly exposed.By choosing to meter for the building you knew that the sky would lose much of its impact - a problem that could be solved either by using a graduated filter at the time of shooting or software manipulation afterwards. As it is,it doesn't convey the feelings you probably had by witnessing this 'sky on fire' b) the angle of shooting is very 'snapshot-ish' :-P - why not move closer to the building and lift the camera upwards so as to give your photo a more dramatic perspective with tilted lines and ...oops, sorry,I have my own wide -angles in mind and don't know the widest setting of your camera! (by the way,if your Olympus doesn't go wide enough it's time to buy a 19-35mm for your Zenit and explore new worlds!!). Regards,Kostas

The buildings in Warsaw are very beautiful and this is a nice shot, but I think the sky is too bright and the front is too dark, this is a common problem on most digital cameras, try some experiments to get a perfect lighting. Regards Massimo PS: I need a coffee now, where is your car? ;-)
