Nice piece of artwork,Jan. Not toooo sure about the background swirls though. Or maybe it just adds to the pensive chaos afore?

Like it all the same, well done, and thank god for PS. ;-)

Thank you, Arif. I feel a little guilty about this picture because Dalila is such a beautiful person.

Retire???? Quitter.

Fun play time image . . . and the skin texture is the plus in this composition . . . almost metallic. Sort of like an...umm...sculpture. :)

Doyle I <~~~~~

Thanks, John. My objective was to play with the filter until I was able to accentuate the facial expression. Of course, Dalila is a very attractive young woman and the result does not do her justice in that respect.

Interesting work Jan, for me just a click on a face isn't enouph, I think we need different ways in portrait photography and that graffic style works fine for me, I like the line texture especialy on the face, like an artwork on a blackboard, cool vivid colours adds too.
be well!

Wow, the before and after is stark. Thanks for that info, Jan. I'll have to play with that when I get home to CS3.

Jan Hoffman Jan Hoffman   {K:39467} 6/18/2008
Paul -- I checked and the filter was the built-in CS3 filter called glowing edges. The intial settings were width 2, brightness 6 and smoothness 5. I believe I tweaked the levels or brightness just a fraction after applying the filter. Attached is untouched original.

Srna -- Thanks! I do not do justice to the beauty of Dalila in this picture. The picture is her mood, not her image. As you well know and understand......

Jan Hoffman Jan Hoffman   {K:39467} 6/18/2008
Paul -- When I return home I will check on the filter name I used; it was one built-in CS3 filter for edge glow; I adjusted levels and brightness and applied the filter and bingo -- this resulted. I will get back to you on filter name and settings, hopefully by tomorrow.
Thanks so much for commenting.
--Best wishes, Jan

Wow, that's an amazing texture, Jan. I get the solarization, but what was done beyond that to create that fine skin detail?
anything?

Hi Jan !
Long time since I've seen Your work and this is a great image here....--- I like the effects very much... the colors are great too.
I would never have guessed this work was from You - you're really branching out and we get to see the 'wild' side of YOU at long last:)) Keep it up - it's sooooooooo interesting !

Best wishes,
Michele~
