I did not think of the sun being too bright, but it is. See the last image.
I did saturate the sky to bring out the golden sky. The yellow spot was were the sun which was, just a little above the horizon. By saturating the sky I also over intensified the area of the sun.
I have remove the bright yellow area and replaced it with the golden sky color.
I like this image. I think you've done a good job of using the tools at your disposal to bring out the detail in the rocks, and the increased saturation of the sky works well. Removing the bright yellow is certainly an improvement to my eye, since I found it to be intense to the point of distraction. I wonder if that would still be the case with a print, since we would then be looking at reflected light instead of a light source.
