About	I usually do not do b/w. This is my second foray into the world of b/w photography. After some consideration, I felt that the silhouettes would probably work better in black & white and add a bit more drama to this rather sombre landscape. The 18-35mm lens also came quite handy. The 'still waters' effect was a result of 30 second exposure. The slightly overexposed image was merged with the underexposed one, and you are looking at the result.

The single most appealing element of a black and white photography is tonality. Mr. Adams was dead on in this area.

I love setting and find myself wanting more range between black and white. Silhouettes work best when the shot is simple. One tree. One hill. One row of trees. One range of hills.

Cropping is good with this shot but there is nothing that draws me into the picture. The foreground is the same density as the back meaning there is little contrast.
