No banding on my istd (not DS) in fact it does an excellent job at 3.200 so I'll be using it for concerts rather than the K10.The latter was a bit of an impulse buy on internet when the price dropped and I wanted a second body plus I liked some of its features-SV,dust remover,antishake and the larger LCD,good for checking sharpness.Haven't had occasion to use 1.600,I'll tell you when I do!Good luck with the weddings!

The snail shell is well cool, glad the survived the painterly stuff.
Notice you bought the k10.
Had the *istds packed up?
I ask because mine bands at all i.s.o.s at the mo... Have two weddings to do and despairing.
It's not a bold exciting leap forward as I see it. Weather seals and stabilization and vibrating ccds whoopdeedo plus2 more inches of print I want a wider palette.
Haow much better is the 1600 on that thing?
I'm thinking it's that or the olympus

No,it's not a painting,just a little scene I built up inside a broken pot with natural light and a touch of PS filter to give it a painterly feel.
