Hi Nicki ...As far as I understand it ' Doner Of The Day' is an image the staff (((( the ones who pay to be a member & particapate in all awards, questions , ideas's disputes. etc.))
They are the ones who by them selves choose an image..altho honestly they do choose all of the images so YOU got me there - Lol !!!
I guess I don't really know either and altho I do pay and I do read the disputes, and forums I don't participate in the voting..for awards as others do...some have goals just to circulate and find new talent, keep up with the very talented and help support the regulars that never get awards I think --hahah!!! I think that was me on that day but it was fun :))

Steppin' out into portraits, very cool job. Well done in black and white, too. I forget which of the two projects trying to emulate a certain photographer is (Avedon or the other one - too early in the morn), but this would fit well in one of them too.

Still using both picassa & photofiltre Doyle--- Well they tried to sell me a bunch of other stuff but the car I was in is lucky to get what it got .... Tthat doesn't sound very nice but it's comming up on to 175,000 miles -Yikes !!!!!!!!!!!!!!1

Geez uniforms are a popular stupid thing in America .....It is humiliating . At least at my new job I just have to wear a cool T-shirt and jeans and whatever comfortable shoes...sounds casual - but it is and it's on the beach so it works for me :)) I start on Sunday at 4pm !!!

What an awesome fine and wonderfully converted. What program did you use? Do we need to learn color filters on B&W conversion???
I wish it was that easy or cheap here. Almost $80.00 for oil and filter plus an hour wait. Ouch.

Wow Michele this is really fantastic....You must of
slipped this in after me telling you I was going to
pay you a visit! :) You have really come up with
a really fantastic picture! You have done an excellent
job in creating it. There are things I see that could
really pup it up a notch or two and be the award winning
photo. That is to say depth is too great. I know this is
something you cant help as your lens will only go so far
and its not a real fast lens anyways. However, you could have blurred it in post process and if your not quite to
that point in your programs yet..... Remember this photo!
You have exposed it perfect which has darkened the background anyways a technique used nearly as well as the
shallow depth of field ....:) Just a great old time feel
to this photo/classic. The sharpness and details to it are
fantastic. Good eye for composing this image Michele. I love how you chose the elements you inclueded in your frame.
I might also see someone say to you....I feel hes a bit boxed in or he's to centered....You know what. I like it for its composition and for it falling in the middle of the frame and you have nicely composed him with natural framing
in his surrounds.....And oh wow! you can see the guy in the car looking back out! I just notised that! Awsome Michele!
I do love this work!! Hard to believe there are still places around like this! Maybe its that good of an image
to envolk some time into giving it that old time look of the 50s and 40s....Great great job Michele! This photo alone
is worth the visit alone! Im glad it happened to to also be the last photo you have uploaded......

might want to start one up they are Very popular here - & Yes we do have that wierd law about not getting to pump our own gas- MY Favorite law !!! Only trouble is crossing the state line into Washington,Ca. or Idaho and sitting in your car wondering if anyone is ever going to come pump your gas for You ! I don't know how many times I have done that one -Lol!!

The poor guys got nervous and thought I was from the local newspaper - They were all laughing but this guy is quite corney I do agree !!!!!!!!!

I really love this Michele, it's so corny, those poor guys in those uniforms must really love their jobs.
