first thing I thought of when I saw the image was a tribute an ex student from Uni of Sth Qld who was in one of my classes there she gave me one of her photos and wrote on the reverse side “u sure knocked some palings off the fence Roj”...so yeah palings off the fence.....Now I am not much of a one for framing an image on this site preferring to let the picture speak for itself but yeah there is a real strong compression going on which is in part delivered by the framing and in part by the focal length you have selected for the shot to the point that it really works as a package… your DOF is fine although a technician would probably argue to the contrary and I guess to a point I would take that one.. tho it does mean dragging out the tripod but I got Peter Dombrovskis’ latest book yesterday.. and they are honestly hard to fathom in terms of the surreal clarity they bring to his subject matter.. so maybe its worth a try.. but I like the scattering of branches above the fence as things struggle to escape and in all one has a sense that it will not be that long before they can…
