About My daughter does not smile for any of her pictures. That is something I need to work on> Other than her not smiling what do you think?

love this, just wish the sky was cropped a bit.

Kelly great job, like Petros said it is a tad soft but in this case it may add to the emotion of the facial gesture of your daughter. Kepp up the good work.

Kelly, you've done a great job seperating the background from your beautiful daughter. I'm not sure if you're using a tripod or not, but it's a great help in getting your pics a little sharper. In these types of photographs, I like to see the eyes perfectly in focus. I'm betting that the scan hasn't helped your case here. However, I know that you're new at this, so I'd like to tell you that you're doing great, and for you to keep at it :-)

Kelly,

I do not know if you used a flash on this, but if you did not ift could help "brighten" the face and shadows up a little. Put a little twikle in her eyes. Just something to fill the light.

Later my friend,

Russ

I don't mind the white background. I like the vertical crop and the colors catch your eye.

I think you needed to shoot this earlier in the morning or much later in the evening... You want soft warm light for her. You could try the trick my mom always used to use on me to get me to smile for the camera. Start cursing just when you are going to shoot. :-)

I think you have a great start here, and with a little re-shoot, will have a fantastic portrait.

What a pity you didn't have a blue sky! But anyway good colours. And for the smile....well, you can't have everything, right? :-)
