Very good shot - I like the idea and the f-104 too - I served in the German Air Force at the same time when these Starfighters were the German Backbone. The prittiest fighter I've ever seen. Well done.

As I alluded to earlier tonight on your other photo, I was thinking about this one and wondered if this was the simple solution.
I really have no idea what I am doing in Photoshop, so this is beyond rough, but I think the basic concept is there and with your knowledge of Photoshop could accomplish what you mentioned via this method.
All the best, Ed

This is excellent Ron! A starfighter going to the sky. So neat, so simple. I could've had it on the wall.

Try to take your suggested image and have the plane start in the lower left and head to the right.

I'm afraid that I'm not really sure what you mean.

Thanks Edward, no I don't mind it at all. It's a funny thing too. When I showed this image to a friend it was exactly as you turned it. She suggested that I turn it around and I liked her suggestion. What I ideally wanted to do was to turn rotate the image in the horizon but the text was giving me all sorts of problems. Do you know a way to do that?

Thanks for the clarification Ron.
Your left to right preference is likely a common one among Western photographers, as it is what we are used to having been raised to read English front left to right, so it is what our eyes are accustomed to.
I wonder though, did you consider the image on its side flying from right to left? I hope you don't mind that I attached it for comparison purposes.
All the best, Ed

I wanted the airplane to "fly into the frame" and it looked better going from left to right. I think that the eye follows the picture better that way. I'm the last person to question about rule of thirds. I usually go with what I feel works best. Thx for the visit.

Great shot Ron.
Again I really like the black and white feel with the very subtle colour of the exhaust.
Just a little curious why you chose to leave so much empty sky above the aircraft or am I the only anti-rule of thirds rebel out there?
All the best, Ed

Perfectly positioned in the frame and the smoke trail proves you haven't stuck a plastic model on a wall ;) I actually like the bland sky, it draws the eye to the aircraft straightaway. Well done, Ron. Regards, Gary

Good details considering the circumstances you described. This looks like a poster.
