About This shot was taken through a hole in a cliff wall looking out onto the edge of the Navajo Nation in Northern Arizona. Its a pretty shot, but it also tells a story. Native Americans were banished to these barren environs after almost being exterminated in the late 1800's. How were they expected to survive in this landscape? Or were they expected to survive? When I look at this photo, and others of the area, I wonder how I'd make it in that environment if I had to. How about you?

This is beautiful and the lighting is just right. Like you have already been told about taking out the pole. A job very well done. This a great area for photos and they never seem to end. Don.

Interesting story you tell. It wouldn't be easy. Well, about the photo, I like the framing and composition. I wish the foreground framing rocks were closer to black. But, it's still a beautiful shot! Nice work.

David ... I am a geologist so shots of this nature have a personal appeal to me. I like the image. Colors and lighting are quite good. The only thing I find distracting is the power pole in the center of the image. Maybe try cloning it out in PS. Well done
