I like the light going across his face and landing in the weeds on the left. And I agree that the left lower weed (out of focus) makes me feel like I'm there.

Another winner, goodness me. Honestly, I like the weed on the left and feel that it adds to the feeling that I'm there in the bush myself. What a great moment to capture.

Well done!

Congratulations Ed!

Another magnificent animal shot. You really have an eye for light and detail. The photo is beautifully composed.

Viewing your photos has taken me to Africa too ( something I would like to do one day ).

Very beautiful, Edward. You could always clone out that distracting brown grass.

Thank you for your comment Jinggoy.

Had I not tried it already I would probably agree with you. However when I did crop in on the right I found the image to long up and down and cropping the top or bottom lost the framing I wanted. I would have cropped more off the left side and left more on the right side, except the foreground on the right was even worse.

I welcome the comments, although I am done my safari and missing it, it does give me ideas for the next time I am out photographing animals.

All the best,
Ed

Hi Ed,
I like how you've framed him with the trees and reeds. I'd opt for more crop on the left since there is that distracting brown weed on the left. Kinda hard to be in a safari and being critiqued huh? :-)
Take care!
