About I enjoy and take a lot of performance photographs. In this situtation we are at the mercy of the stage lights and the choreography. In this photo you can see what's left of the fog that very dense at the begining of the dance.

This is an excellent example how how to do it right! Good job! This image makes these type of photos look easy to do, but the amount of dark/black area and the light color of the costumes makes this a difficult exposure at best and maybe impossible fo all but the really experienced. Add to that the constant movement and you have nothing but blurr many times. Tom doesn't say it, but I suspect the lens is closer to 200 then to 70mm and I suspect he is using a tripod or at the very least a monopod.

Mary Sue, I too hate it when there isn't enough room to keep the subject from crowding the border. I'd love to show you more of this image but this is the full frame. I'll post others you may find more pleasing.

You captured a nice moment of stillness in the dance. I wish there was just a smidge more space on the left (just beyond the dancer's outstretched hand) to balance the same space on the right. Is this uploaded at 450 pixels on the longest side? I'd love to see it larger than this to get more detail. This is lovely. The fog and stage lighting worked well for you.
