Nice shot. Like others have said a ND grad filter would have been useful here. Alternatively you could have taken two shots, one exposed for the highlights and another for the shadows and combined them in PS to get the best of both exposures and really increased the dynamic range of the resulting picture.

It is certainly stunning scenery and a very pleasing image. Others have already commented on the burn out in the background. My other slight concern is a lack of strong focal interest. I find my eyes being distracted to either side of the image by the trees.

I know very well this corner of Yellowstone - I took the same shot more or less from this angle - mine was more in the shade. Great control over the exposure, Davide! It was a tough place to photograph because of the strong whites and brightness.

Yes for sure an ND filter in the sky area to knock that burned out are down a few stops and bring the overall brightness of the foreground up. The other option would be to crop it to a panoramic view right above the waterfall just under the burned out area. Then bring up the overall lightness of the scene. Either way a pretty neat image.

I think the scenery is amazing and you have caught the foreground detail really well. My only criticism is the burnt out highlights above the waterfall. Maybe a N.D. Grad filter would have helped preserve the colour and detail there. Otherwise, a really nice photo. Cheers, Ann.
