About
I burned the background in PS. It was a black backdrop, but the sun was shining on it, and it looked greyish-blue. It was difficult to expose this entire flower correctly! I took about 6 different shots and each is slightly overexposed. Ah, well. P.S. - If anyone knows the name of this particular lilly, please let me know! I'm not really sure how to care for it properly!
Shot on tripod with a +2 macro filter. Actual shutter was 1/2.
Thanks everyone for your comments, and thank you Richard for identifying the plant! Exotic? I had no idea! I can now look it up and see what it likes in terms of sunlight and watering. It's a potted plant, so hopefully it will last awhile... or for at lease a few more photo sessions. :-)
Becky, first of all I love your picture, the red against the black backdrop works beautifully. Secondly, the name of this flower is 'Anthurium'. It's actually not a lilly and can be found growing in exotic countries such as Hawaii and Mauritius. Thirdly, these are quite hardy and should last for about 3 weeks in water. Hope this helps.
Becky - we must have been looking at each otehrs photo at the same time!! Red/green on black is unbeatable. Pity you had trouble getting them just a bit sharper.
