Hey Lin, Thanks for taking a second look at this and for making me feel proud of it.
The signature is easy... once you have it captured via a scanner. Here's the steps for it:
1) Scan your signature. I used a black Sharpie on some white xerox paper and made the signature about 10 times the size I normally write it. I also made this an artistic "nom de plume" signature which is very different from my real-world signature. 2) Open it in Photoshop and go to Select>Color Range... then select Shadows from the popup menu. Click "Okay." this will select only the black part. 3) Go to the Paths Palette and click on the "Make Work Path From Selection" icon at the bottom of the palette (it looks like a circle with two handles coming off of it). 4) Go to Edit>Define Custom Shape and enter a name for this shape (like My Signature). Now you have a Custom Shape of your sig that you can use anywhere. 5) To place it on your images, a) Select a Foreground color that you want the sig to be, b) Create a new layer, c) Select the Custom Shape Tool and find your sig at the bottom of the shape list. Make sure you have the options (in the Options Bar) for this shape set to Fill Pixels and Defined Proportions. d) Click and drag where you want the signature to be. It can be moved with the Move Tool.
Once you have the signature on your image, you can add Layer Styles such as a drop shadow, gradient overlay, stroke, etc...
I have my signature set-up as an Action that I just click once and it places it in the image with the Foreground color I've chosen.
Let me know if you understand all this. I would be happy to give further details of individual steps.
Hugalicious Hugs ~R

Yes it does look like a carousel!! And a drum, and a great architectural structure. Beautifully captured, love the blues, and the mirror image in the stillness of the water. Good use of complementary colors. The light and the blues are wonderful. Rocky the composition is SUPERB!! I like the lines of/or subtle shapes of the clouds contrasted with the round shapes and curves, and the way they come across the sky from behind the building really sets everything else off...if that makes any sense. Awesome work again...very well done...big hugs...:) Lin

Wow! I can't image a 32 lb house cat, Jan, but I'd love to have one. LOL! Mancoons are naturally large cats but Yabo's weight is mostly due to his girth than his height. :) He loves his treats and I just can't help indulging him. Thanks very much for sharing your story about Ninja and the nice comments. ~ Warm regards, Rocky

Rocky-- somehow this one slipped by me until I saw Linda's comments on the front page. I certainly cannot top her comments but I can say that I, as a novice Photoshop user, appreciate your summary of the various treatments you made to the photo. Am a cat (and dog) lover too, and love big cats. My previous cat (Ninja-rest in peace) was over 32 pounds. Yabo, big boy that he is, is a handsome guy and I enjoy viewing your portrait of him. --Best to you, Jan

It's interesting how much differently this looks here versus how it looks printed (I have 11x14 prints for all of the class assignments here). I think this one looks more interesting in print than on the web. Often it is the other way around.
Thanks again, Lin, for your wonderfully encouraging words and it was my pleasure to share what I can with what I know.

LOL! Yeah, he doesn't have to run for election... he's self appointed for life! LOL!
I love sharing what I know about PS and photography. I've noticed that very few people share their post-processing here. I guess most are just being protective of their "style." One advantage of knowing PS really well is being able to know what someone has done to an image without them telling you.
Thanks for your always-encouraging and ever-kind feedback, Lin. I really value your comments.
I haven't noticed any lag in getting my comments from UF. So, maybe it's a lag somewhere in your corner of the globe?
Big Juicy HUGS missy. ~R
