Thanks Rachel - I think I was lucky with the light. The clouds were rushing over and I just happend upon the little cove at the right time.

Nice shot Andy - I'll have to get myself up there one day. If you could just arrange such a good sky before I go :-)

I like that David - something about the curves. Personally I think the pink bits are a bit distracting but I like it none the less

Nice shot Branimir - you've got some lovely images in your collection. Looks like you live in a very 'inspirational' town

Thanks Steve - yep, I think you're right about the frames. I gave them a quick go but now I've fallen out of love with them! I reckon you're right and the picture needs to be able to just stand up for itself.

Lovely shot John - the only thing that bothers me is those 'marks' in the sky - look like dirty sensor marks, althought I'm sure they're not

Sorry Mike - I knew it was a long exposure but just not HOW long! The NEF tells me it was 30 secs at F13. There was a strong street light to one side too helping the moon out, but I just put the leaf in the middle of the reflection.

As for how it was calculated - just down to the meter on the D1X - I just set the aperture and click. The metering on this camera is really excellent.

Thanks for your comment Mike, and yep, get out on the next moonlit night ok!

Personally I like the dark version - just because it's more 'mysterious'. It reminds me of a flowing spanish flamenco dress - very nice.

Thanks Andy. Yep, the New Forest is a lovely place at this time of the year. This was taken at Bolderwood where there is an ornamental drive with acres and acres of Beech trees and quite a few deer too. It's not far from Lyndhurst. See you there :-))

Nice shot Giulio - the cut outs where the edges are together with the lines give a nice effect. Personally I'd have cropped just a little off the bottom but I like it none the less

Lovely saw-cut edges and shadows Jeanette, and the colour of the leaves underneath is delicious. Nicely exposed too - excellent.

I like all the night shots - they all look very clean, and it's good to see someone still out when the sun goes down. Like the slippery sealskin look of this of the foreground on this one.
