Dark and mysterious, that's the impression I get looking at this photo. Maybe it would even look better with some highlights on the green parts of the foreground. I hope you don't mind but I have experienced a little with contrasts and levels in PS, ust to show what I mean. It's personal taste of course, it still is a great capture!

certainly a classic certainly seen a thousand times but always beautiful anew : yours amongst the upperclass why? because you tried to keep it simple, not too much drama for this enchanted forest

Thanks, all, for your comments. This road is not in Quebec, but on the Hana Highway, south of Hana, Maui, HI. There was almost no traffic---I think only two vehicles passed during the half hour or so I photographed here. It was a great and beautiful place.

This scene must be very hard to resist for one with a camera. It is very sharp and the DOF most effective. I find the compostion very striking: true, one might have tried to take it from more of an angle, but there is so much change of direction in that road throughout the visible length that it is most satisfactory as it is. Another shot of it would simply be just that, another shot, but not necessarily a preferred one. Is this capture in Quebec, it does look like a region that I am familiar with? Congreatulations, Alan Mead.

I'm one of the people who would prefer a crop of the top so you didn't see the sky. But I do like it very much nontheless. It would be a very good image to manipulate to make look more surreal perhaps with color tones, b/w, etc.

Tom, great image! Like the way you used your long lens to compress the road. I agree with one of the other comments re framing. The image may have had more even more impact had you been able to frame it so the road was at more of a diagonal, rather than running up the center of the image. Were you waiting for an 18-wheeler to have an accident?! I can't wait to see the caption you create for presentations!
