Sharp as a knife, and as warming as a winter fire. Great shot!

A masterpice, as both a photograph, AND a piece of artwork. The cloth gives it an almost canvas like texture to the shot. The colours are both delicate and yet warmly vibrant. Perfectly composed and cropped. Giving the feel of and Old Masterpiece, that one might see in the Tate Britain or The Louvre. Well done.

Will peruse more of your portfolio when I have more time, but I have just bought a cool Canon 85mm lens, and need to go and get my Photo fix. What a great addiction to have, don't you think?

Nice idea. There are a few tips I could give you though. If you have PS (Photoshop)then you can enhance your photos to help show them off better, and to correct any mistakes, if they ARE mistakes, and NOT artistic Licence. ;-)

Firstly use the patch tool to lose the white spot on the floor, and then the cropping tool to twist and crop the picture around clockwise, so the figures are standing up straight. Unless this wedding was on a ferry during a storm, then it's fine.

Nice portfolio all the same, keep them coming, and don't be disheartened.

Nice alternative angle, as it's not always possible to get behind the band like so. Well done.

I've just finished taking a load of shots at our local Ealing Jazz Festival, so watch out for some of MY uploads too. ;-)

A real eye-catcher of a photo/artwork. A photographic feast to delve into. A nice tight crop, almost as narrow as the canals themselves. You have captured and enhanced the colours to perfection. I am not sure whether I want to jump into the photo and onto the boat, or book my flight to Venice. It has the desired affect of pleasure inspiration and giving life to the moment. Well done.

Ciao, Ian

All of the other comments have said it before. It's certainly an eye-catcher, sharp and vibrant, well done. I like your wedding shots alot too. I've just strted, over the last few years to do weddings, so am still learning. Any advice you could give me would be much appreciated. There are some of my efforts in my wedding portfolio for one to peruse at ones leisure.

A great all-rounder!! Very pleasing on the eye, as she is a beautiful model. The DOF seems spot on, and the clarity/sharpness is shown in the splash of the water frozen in time. GREAT shot!!! Not that I'm an expert or anything. ;-)

Having great pleasure in perusing your profile.

Ty.

Nice work, Cathy. Agree with all of the above, though, for me, I think it would be perfect if one black out the figures completely. As the figure on the right almost is. Reminds me of the late Tony Hudson's Africa prints. I think it's the tones and colours used etc. Great work all the same.

Very pleasing on the eye, and I like the way the trail of water draws one to the background. Nicely lit too. Well done.

Hi Anne,
Going by the thumbnail, I thought it was an action shot of a pot of liquid crashing on the floor and the splash/crash frozen in time. What a surprise when I opened it up fully. Great shot all the same. Long time no see, how are you doing, are you selling much work? I did an art fair two weekends ago, and sold three pieces. :-)

Nice Rustic shot, though maybe a tad more colour saturation, and contrast, would bring it out more? Though I'm no expert. ;-)

Thanks for your printer comments, much appreciated, will give the Epson and Ilford a go.

Hi Luis,

Firstly, Ty for your very positive comments on my works, much appreciated.

I am Blown Away by your Tango Series. They are AMAZING! The spooky thing is, that I am just about to leave this internet cafe, to go and find out about some Tango Lessons for myself. And that was BEFORE I saw your work, now i am more determined. Then it is home to carry on watching "The Motorcycle Diaries". Great film so far.

Great emotion, in motion. Well captured. The odd blurred face, just adds to the action.

You have a very exciting, yet calming portfolio. Shall try to peruse more of it when I have more time. Just off home to see if my Epson E2400 A3+ Printer has arrived. ;-)

Is Hornby Island part of the Gulf Islands, as I've stayed on SaltSpring Is. In 1998 I worked on the Organic Farms there. It's my soul place. Took me three attempts to finally leave it.
