Very nice the expressive, intense colors, and composition is good with fosus on the water/ reflections. My only concern is the luminance of the sun area being less bright than the corresponding reflection. Only possible in-camera with a grad ND filter or postprocessed with burning there. Not a major issue, however.

Cheers

Very nice colors and good choice of camera point and prspective. Agree on Petal?s suggestions, would make another spectacular sight.

Roger, thank you very much for your thoughtful comment. "Softlight accent" means PS composite technique, with a background layer copy in "soft light" blending mode over the original. This accentuates color contrast, is often more appealing than simply pulling the contrast slider. Your statement is a great compliment, since I tried not to overdo my PS work here (as much as needed, but not too much).
After my first feeling of success with PS, I was in an enthusiastic state and had a fatal tendency to overdo PS tweaking (and, not to forget: you are rewarded for intense PS work, get more and better comments ! Most popular are strong colors, contrasts, and people become accustomed to the perfect digitally mastered photo, right ?). At the moment I am sort of undecided, sometimes I strive for the natural look, sometimes I go over the top, just for more intense expression of my feelings. The good thing with PS is, you have the freedom to decide how much.
Here the straight out of the camera original, resized.

Cheers

Barry, what a nice analogy ! It seems as if we share the same fondness for red wines ;-)

Very artistic choice of camera point and perspective, as always ;-) I like the off-center vanishing point, and the converging curves. The yellow is indeed an important stylistic element here.

Surprise ! I am speechless, your "other side" is at least as good as your previous work ! Golden section horizon, wonderful atmospere, superb lighting and colors. Excellent - come on, post more stuff from this side ;-)

Shane, agree completely on the center part.

But... Imagine a nude: sometimes, speaking for myself, a complete view is sometimes more attractive than a close-up ;-)

Joking aside, I like the contrast of the foreground lead-in and the brighter center part, makes this part shine a bit more, IMO

An example how good photography shows us the world in a way we didn?t see before, very imaginative and creative shot. Very good composition and tones.

This is extremely charming because of your clever choice of aperture, focal length, DOF, and camera point. Kind of pointilistic appearance of the background. A philosophical question is to break that horizontal branch (left side) or not. I would not hesitate to break that twig away, and shoot then ;-)

Stunning the almost glowing green. The branches come out nicely with the wide lens. Foreground is kind of boring, maybe I would have burned there, or a vignette. Just an idea

Kind of natural highkey conditions, well executed landscape. First I thought about a square, but this tree is nice for this format, his branches make a diagonal. Nothing to improve IMO

Ricardo, dead center is slang for the horizon in the middle, dividing in an upper and lower half, what is said to be boring. As a rule, and you know - rules are there to be broken ;-)

It is the flow of lines in ground and sky that makes this image successful. Artistic composition, so it works well in B&W, good tonal range.

Love the drama in this cloudscape, and the rays of light. The dilemma with such a sky is the dynamic range, and digital has about the same range as hard slide film :-( So, for such cloudscapes I shoot RAW and work around this issue with composites, different layers (converted for the shadows and the highlights). Or, better, as "in-camera" solution, I sometimes bother to shoot multiple exposures for bracketing.

Now this is outstanding ! What an elegant lead-in with the shore and luminance gradient, what an artistic in-camera work ! The hoarfrost, the cold color palette, the raising mist... Love it. Into my favs. Even the contrails are cooperative adding nicely to a vanishing point behind the horizon ;-)

Your idea with the splash is really clever ! Although the other splash shot got more comments, this is my favourite with this concept, since I love seacsapes or landscapes with harmony in sky-/ or land patterns and the skyscape lines. And this is fine with the circular patterns in the water and the ripples in the high clouds. A composition where I dont nitpick the "dead center" horizon, because it works.

A photo like a light in the darkness, attracting moths like me ;-) I?m a sucker for strong colors... A very attractive shot with its nearly supernatural colors, extremely effective and appealing. I?m quite sure that your intention was to play with colors and emotions, and you succeeded - excellent and quite original sunset !

Very good composition, nice lead-in. I would have toned all a tad darker, but thats surely a matter of personal taste. Very good the hoarfrost. That single little branch @the top should be cloned out, IMO
