A stunning shot, but apart from the horizon it has great beauty, can almost hear the sand whistling around. May make a good B/W print also.

Beautiful colors and composition. I would change nothing about it! Sometimes that rule of thirds defies anything my eyes see, and I have to be rebellious. Congrats on a well deserved award.

Thanks Lori for you most delightful comment! I never really thought about the horizon, it felt better I guess - I think that if I did it in thirds there would have been a surplus in either grass or sky. So thirds would have indeed killed it.
Thanks again! ~ Gj

wow!! what a stunning photograph this is!
Absolutely gorgeous colors, not too much on the dark side for me!

Beautiful colors, I even like the bold centering of the horizon, which normally I do not like, but I think in this image it WORKS!

Congrats on your recognition! Well deserved!

I think the darkness really sets the stage for the beautiful light to make its appearance in the center. The tree on the right is a bit distracting though. Congratulations on the well deserved POD. : ) Kurt

Thanks Craig. Indeed, Patrick was right about the crop; like you said the petal intrudes on the privacy of this flower. The crop also makes it more intimate.

Cheers ~ Gj

Beautiful macro Gj! The clarity and details are really fine!
I think I prefer the cropped version because of the little piece of petal in the upper left-hand corner of the original is slightly distracting.
