More than any other flower, the sight and smell of lilacs evoke memories of my childhood days spent at my grandma's house in Michigan. I do like this shot as it has taken me on a short journey down memory lane. Thanks for uploading this - too bad that you couldn't include smell along with the sharp crisp details and wonderful colors in this shot.

Del,
Good composition but you really need to add a filter to this. The reflection of the water is blaring to the eyes. Try using photoshop to add a neutral density filter effect. It will be a much improved shot....

Mirek,,Thank you for the comment. The WWII memorial is divided into two parts one honoring those who served in the Pacific and one for those who served in the Atlantic. Each section has a tower with a Baldachin (or if you prefer Baldaquin). Attached below are two versions as shown in the Park Service literature. The one I chose to film was for the Atlantic side. I liked the way the sky could be seen through the ring of laural the 4 eagles were holding. I agree that "Journalistic" does not exactly fit but since the monument tells a story of the war I could not think of any better catagory unless I used "other".
