"Moody Landscape", indeed! You captured the dreary grayness, and yet the beauty, quite well.

Stunning sky and contrasts . . . this is precisely how b/w landscape should be, to my eye, such amazing light.

Sharp with nice clarity and detail. I love the water drops and the tones are very nice. I think the leaves in the foreground on the right center are distracting a bit.

Hi Lady D, thanks for your comments on my images, there are trully apreciated. I did some shots in Philly that remind me of this place. great choice of film and composition. You also asked about the the 35mm, let me tell you that all of my nikon lenses are ais, and that I always focus manualy and expose that way, the 35mm ais is a great lens, maybe my fav. do not worry, i understand that the af might be even better. http://sizzilingdeals.com/ni35fwian.html
btw, all of my lenses are bought used.
Sincerely,
Helder

You have some great images in your portfolio and there is a real style showing. Your use of black and white is striking. This has to be one of my favorites as i love the timing and composition.

Keep up the good work. )

Beautiful B&W still life. Wow! You're still using film and doing your own darkroom work. A gold star for that alone.

Hi Lady D, thanks for your nice comments about my images.
1: velvia 50 can be a real bad film choice specialy if there is alot of contrast. Also, the too much of little color can get in the way of a nice image, the richness of velvia many times translates well to B&W. This image is a great candidate for velvia, and the use of 1/3's is a smart choice.
2: I love my 35mm nikkor, it is a ais but from what I understand the af is just as good if not better. http://sizzilingdeals.com/ni35fwian.html. I have not seen it cheaper than that. I also have a 50mm 1.4 and a 28mm 2.8 all ais and have never had any problems with quality. All of my lenses are also bought used at adorama.
3: for a everyday realiable slide sensia is my favorite, clean, sharp, inexpensive. maybe not the most vibrante but with ps and the right exposure the diference is not that great. also I have never noticed a great color shift.
Good luck with your photography, and I hope you stop by my portfolio again.

Helder

This shot has some of the richest B/W tones that I've seen on this website. The nikon has done well....and so have you. Terrific shot!

if i had a penny for every time i have rode past this without my camera and said "that would make a cool picture" then promptly forgot i would be rich. i really like this picture and i would have to disagree with helder. personally i think the light is just right. more light would make for harsher shadows and ruin the serene soliitariety of this picture imo.

Hi, this is an image I like but I would try to play with the contrast and try to enphasize the architecture and light.

Great photo, I really like this kind of composition with a vanishing point and a wonderful sky. The diagonals lines giving movement to the photo.
