She looks like she needs a good warming up - not sure that the graduating desaturation works here - not sure why you chose to do it at all. Sorry, I don't see the merit in this photograph.

Personally, I find the posts too distracting for the scene. Having said this, the B+W is awesome and, posts aside, the composition is fetching and is a scene I'd love to view first hand myself.

I would have liked to have seen more fill on her face. The portrait is moody and looks great in B+W.

You are certainly the master at freezing the characters of these horses. While the post work on the backgrounds and use of subtle tones is not everyones cup of tea, I like your style, the images you present would make amazing pictures on any wall!

Interesting, nice choice of shot, I like the "sharper" front cyclist. Good work, nice colours and great use of slow shutter!

It's a fantastic capture, but too saturated in my opinion.

OK well I'm gonna go against the grain here and offer my thoughts on the image. I love the light, it's golden and perfect for the subject - the exposure is just right with just enough detail. The problem I have is the space to the right, it doesn't work for me, that coupled with the beautiful girls posture which is leaning to the window as if something ground level is stopping her from getting close enough to the window.

I'd love to have seen this photograph with the girl standing more upright, to me that would be perfection.

Great work though Viletta, I could only dream of coming up with a photograph so beautiful. My thoughts are only thoughts, not in any way do I think that this image is bad. On the contrary, it's beautiful - congrats!!!!!

OK first impressions when I saw the thumbnail was that of an old photograph - nice portrait. I opened the shot and found the image to be just that, slightly softer than I expected (is it exactly in focus or is this down to the scan?).

Having read your "about" I think that this portrait is truly wonderful, a great capture of the early 70's and one that I enjoyed viewing. While there is a bit of cleaning up to be done on the digital scan, I can't suggest an improvement.

Excellent!!!!!!

Excellent work - love the colours and approach to composition. I'd prefer to see this 1/3 stop under but it's only a minor thing!

The border you could have left out in my opinion. The image looks a little flat, like it needs some more contrast. Sorry to be so blunt Eric - you have some good shots in your portfolio but this one doesn't hold up to the consistency.

Nice work Pete - lovely colours, great exposure and a few nice lines to lead us into the frame. 15 seconds is pretty awesome, did you get much noise?

Perfect pose for this sort of face. He looks stern and not happy with the photographer yet I get this feeling your Dad is a kind and happy sole!

I wish that the focal point was the eyes, however this is only a small point. Great portrait and well set up!

In reply to Mirek:

The frame is well composed and interesting. How often do you see moss growing over such a texture that looks like a grass and sky scene?

The "special" skill that Eb has, is in the finding of the frame that makes the photograph. Not all photographers walk around with their eyes closed :-)

Great textures and well spotted. Love the cracked paint. These numbers almost look like they were photographed bouncing up and down on some grass with a blown out sky beyond.

Good work Eb!!

I agree, this is a very static shot however there are some merits worth mentioning. The exposure is good since you're shooting into sky and the angle of flight is good. It's sharp and you probably had an interesting time trying to track this plane with a 300mm + crop factor.

If I were to crit this, the sky for me is unreal. You need to adjust the tone or white balance. Also, the purple fringing is a little bit off-putting around the edges of the frame but I don't think you can do much about this (I believe the blame lies with the optics of your lens).

Overall, I like this because if this was me I'd have probably blown out the sky and not got it in focus hehe.

Good work Gary!

Very elegant, looks excellent in B+W, a little soft for me (I guess this is your intention) - good detail shot Laurentiu!

For me, too much sky however the exposure is nice and I like the vignette. Was there a reason for the high composition other than keeping in as much sky as possible?
