I took the picture at the zoo so the birds were used to people around. I hung over a railing to get a bit closer. The birds were interested in the click of my shutter so they did not fly away.

Thanks Sam. I had a particularly difficult morning shooting a baby. I saw this while driving and was taking by how pure the color are and simplicity. It was just what I needed to shake the mornings frustration off. ;)

You are right it is a matter of preference. This is a crystal clear sharp image. Very well done. My preference would be for "frozen" motion in this setting. One can imagine that split second at the top of the ramp, when there is a nano second of a pause before descending back down the ramp at exhilarating speeds. Nicely captured.
