those are not barnacles, they are part of the whales anatomy the name of which escapes me ow, barnacles are crustaceans. not much of a spyhopping image but a lovely photo nevertheless. Great capture.

Alex, I used to use a a few NikonosV(s) but switched about 3 years ago to the Olympus 5050 in its dedicated housing. Now I use it almost exlusively, one in a modified for wide angle with strobe adapters, base plate, etc the other is still in its original condition for close up and macro.The Nik V with 15mm lens is still the best for chasing marine mammals, something I am permitted to do here (however it is infrequent). Time being an issue.
