Nice capture, this appears to be a Gulf Fritillary. They are quite prevalent in our area. They seemed to really enjoy devouring my Passion flowers this year.

Hello Danny Brannigan, thank you for your comment. I looked at this a lot of different ways throgh the Camera, and did try quite a few crops, but I wanted the dogwood tree in the picture, and wanted the trail I was walking out of the dark into the light on the parking lot. I did enter it in the photo show hear, but a small town, it has won in the Fair and in the photo show. I do love this picture, I have a 8 by 10 on my wall. bk
