Wonderful expression between mother and child and overall softness. LOVE IT.
The only thing I would suggest would be lower the light on Mom's arm and top of baby's head. Also, remove her necklace. (but this is my preference only)!

Kathleen, this portrait is so soft and intimate and maternal, I think I'm lactating! 
This is wonderfully composed and I like the lower contrast used here to keep it baby-soft.

Captured the warmth for sure. I wonder how a slightly lower angle might have worked. Less ceiling and more floor? Good thing you didn't alter the white balance. Looking forward to more of your digi stuff!
