Thanks for your comments, Mahamed. The bird is actually in naturak color as photographed. The background was turned b/w to emphasize the macaw.

I am sorry but I agree with Carmem: her eyes are disturbing. Otherwise, the exposure is spot on.

Thanks for your comments, Mahamed. The clouds were already there. I wish in hindsight that I had a polarizer with me to get better saturation on the sky. No time to think of these things when a bomber is flying at you. Unfortunately I did not go on the flight. I probably will if there is another opportunity.

Mahammed,

Thank you for your comments. Please feel free to keep this in your personal album as you wish.
I have photos of other WWII vintage planes, including another B17G in my portfolio if you're interested in vintage aircraft.

Regards,

Peter

Perfect, simply perfect. I can almost hear the droning of the radials and smell the kerosene! By the way, were the clouds already there or were they added? Did you went along for the flight?

Thanks for your comments, Bob. I have a few other images of this particular plane as well as others of the same period. The cool thing about this one is that it is taking off from the same airfield it was built at some 60 years ago, a sort of homecoming for this plane.

Thanks, Ciana. I recall spending my whole lunch hour listening to this guy the day I shot this - he was that good. I work in downtown NYC. The part of Stone St. that the photo was taken on is more like a cobblestone alley, fronted mostly by restaurants.
I work a few blocks away. I'll often bring the camera in to work with me in the warm weather months, and go looking for photo ops during lunch.

A nice photo for your photo album. A polarising filter would enhance the cloud detail which is in the back ground but not doing anything for this photo. Diffused backgrounds only work with portraits and especially macro shots. Ian Pearson

Excellent abstract capture Peter, amazing 3D optical ilusion, superb lighting
Many thanks for commenting "Fishing pond IR"
Now in the digital era, near IR this is how it is called, has become very popular and quite easy,
there are specila filters like Hoya 72 R,and cokin P007 the one I am using and others, beside the filter the white balance is to be set,I think that with you camera you can shot IR
My best regards
