it's easy for everyone who visits this place to take a snapshot of this majestic ship, and i'm sure there are hundreds of them in photoalbums... but let me think that few photographers would compose the 'gardar' so skilfully as Klaas did,and produce such a strong and moody image :-)
regards,
kostas

Niente male veramente, sembra dividere in 2 le montagne di sfondo. Avrei tagliato la parte sotto sfuocata. Bravo

OH YES! I almost get to cry when I see the perfection of "argentic squares" (MF films) and when I think that they will be soon replaced by pixels without any soul. Please, go on letting us see our beautiful world through the small squared window of your heart. Please.

Erg goede foto, fantastische kleuren en een perfecte balans tussen de 3 hoofd vlakken. Voor mijn gevoel is het witte middelste sneeuw vlak het dominanst lijkt mij ook iets scherper als het prachtig gekleurde water.

Goede & terechte keuze STAFF

erg mooi lijnenspel in deze foto. Dit maakt voor mij de foto een mix van oud en nieuw, de locatie is duidelijk ouder maar het lijnenspel lijkt mij erg modern.

Iceland is amazing. The composition in this one is excellent, but I find the image a bit soft. The slow shutterspeed nicely softens up the water, but the rocks are also a bit soft. Anything that caused a tremour? I gather you used a tripod...

Cheers,

Hugo

Hi Klaas Jan, Iceland's very impressive. I remember the grim looking beaches on the south coast of Iceland very well. I took a few specifics of this ara, but I like the overview in this one. Well captured. I feel a bit ambiguous about the bird, though. Although it is a nice addition to the image, and I agree something would be missing without it, the bird's pretty close to the brownish red spots, which is, IMO, not the best location. A more prominent place, against the water, probably, would've pushed the impact of this shot even more, I think.

Cheers,

Hugo

Hi Hugo,

Thanks, I like using the square format and sometimes centering the image works very well.

This is one of the three emerald lakes at Tongariro or better known as Mordor...

Tongariro is a very nice place with lots of volcanoes.

Klaas Jan

Hi Klaas Jan, Awesome shot. The boldly cntered composition works very well in this case, and the atmosphere is amazing. Judging by the colour and the shape, it looks like a vulcanic (crater) lake, much like those on Iceland... Completely unexpected colour, but it creates a beautiful addition to this shot. Very well captured.

Cheers,

Hugo
