Those piles so charming here! Some earnest stick people holding up the pier so people can safely walk out over the sea.
Exposure speed captured just enough detail in those waves, that's actually the thing that hits me first is those soft nice lines in the quiet tones.
Gidday Michaelle. I just perused the whole velvia 50 catalogue on u.f., researching for a landscape shot I want to do. This is the last (thus the first) and a fitting close to a journey (begining).

I think this can technically be a Polaroid as well as a scannergram. Very original. I like the randomness and yet there seems to be a design element underneath it all. I like the colors, too.

I love this detail on the flowers and dress are great as is the angle of her head - showing the anticipation. A minor point the door in the background with it's slight slope and hinge showing takes the eye away a bit.

Thank you for your help and advice on my pic - must appreciate you taking the time and trouble. I did several layers ,ie face, hair, blouse, and I did work a bit on the eyes for not to the degree you did - thanks again

I like the comparison of the old and new (or newly painted!) barns. And the steer in the foreground definitely adds to the farm feel. The broken fence on the right side is a nice touch too.

Hi Michaelle,

Out of the 3 shots, I really like this one. I like the way the fence in the foreground leads your eye to the main subject in the background.
Excellent compostion!!
Keep up the great work!

One of my oil painting instructors from college back in the early 80s used to send us out on treks to find scenes to shoot to use as references for our paintings. I would have loved to have had this shot back then! It is very artistic. Lovely and subtle color.

Michaelle, you've done very well, and this is a great shot.Beautiful colours and composition. The only thing that I would say, and this is only very small, but i would maybe crop it a little closer towards the fenceline....
Your portfolio is wonderful and I will surely keep an eye out for your work from now on.

This is pretty cool Michaelle. The sharpness and tones are excellent, and while it may not be your usual style it does show how diverse and talented you are.

It's funny, but for the past few weeks I have been thinking about trying to photograph the Doves out my back door with this same great lens on my D70. Mostly I just sit and watch them. One even flew onto the porch about 3 feet from where I was sitting, without my camera of course. Oh well, sometimes it's ok to just watch.

Thanks for sharing this fine photo Michaelle. I think I will give it a go myself today.
